You have no excuse not to

does anyone else think it's slightly ridiculous how much the media is stressing that obama is black?
i feel like it is every other sentence, something has to do with his race. i feel like they are just distracting us from political stances and important issues. it would almost be excusable if it was all about obama breaking down race restrictions, but it is hardly spoken about in that tone.
drives me crazy...

I think it would be great to post voting stories OR to put up public images, news stories, and the like throughout the next couple days.
This election is HUGE and I think this space could be a great place for us to dialogue about it. I know I don't have to tell you this, but none-the-less: Just make sure we're not shoving opinions down each other's throats. I value everyone's vote, even if it does not agree with mine. And, although we may all "seem" liberal because we attend Emerson, it doesn't mean we are. So, with that in mind: DISCUSS!

I would have to agree with Riley in that I was questioning why the media was focusing so much on race in this election. (Maybe its because we are living in a very liberal part of the country that this seemed odd to me.) It wasn't until after hearing John Kerry speak last night that i began thinking how much of a milestone it is that less than fifty years after the civil rights movement a black man is in the highest position of power in the United States. That's undeniably newsworthy and shows just how much the country can adapt.
